"Obituary Mr. W. W. Gould Mr. William Winspear Gould, who died at his home in Lucindale on September 15, was the second surviving son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Edmund Gould of Conmurra. The deceased was born at Hatherleigh (in the Millicent distrct) on August 17, 1884, and was 56 years of age. In the year 1889 he came with his parents and other members of the family to Conmurra, where his father had taken up a section of land and followed grazing pursuits, and had lived in the district ever since.

On April 16, 1915, he married Miss Ethel Anne, second daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. W. G. Williams, of Conmurra, who survives him, and he also leaves a daughter (Joyce) and two sons (Ross and Allen). Messrs E. H. and P. S. Gould, of Conmurra, and Mrs. P. J. Burke, of Lucindale are brothers and sister of deceased and one sister, Mrs. G. W. Langberg predeceased him. In his younger days the late Mr. Gould was a prominent cricketer and footballer, and during later years he had been a keen follower of the fortunes of the Lucindale football team. The remains of the deceased were interred in the Lucindale cemetery, when a large number of relatives and friends comprised the cortege and gathered around the grave at the service, an evidence of the affection and regard in which he was held in the community. Mr. A. F. Giddings, of Narracoorte, carried out the mortuary arrangements (2).

(4) The report in the Narracoorte Herald dated 4 August 1922 reads: " Fatal Drowning Accident at Conmurra.
Child drowned in a waterhole. A sad fatal drowning accident occurred at Conmurra, in the Lucindale district, between 12 and 1 o`clock on Tuesday last. It appears that Herbert William Gould, aged 2 years and nine months, a twin son of Mr. and Mrs. W. Gould, of Conmurra, was out playing with a twin brother and a sister a short distance from their home.
Their mother went out and called the children to dinner, but only two of them responded. On being asked where the third child (Bertie) was, the little ones replied that he was in the water. Mrs. Gould at once set off to a waterhole (an old Quarry with water in it), about a quarter of a mile from the house, and obtained the assistance of one of the neighbours, Mr. F. Nosworthy. Mr. Nosworthy went in the water and brought the body out. The depth of water where the body was found was 2 ft 6 in. Life appeared to be extinct. Mr. W. Williams, who has knowledge in first aid, tried the methods usually adopted in the cases of those apparently drowned but failed to restore animation. Much sympathy is felt for the parents of the child, who some two years ago, also lost a promising boy about four years of age."
