Margaret Goodwin was born in 1712, the daughter of Richard Goodwin 1679-1763 and his wife nee Elizabeth Buxton 1682-1776. She was baptised on 27 August 1712 at Tissington in Derbyshire.

In 1737 Margaret Goodwin was married to John Wheeldon or Whieldon, born about 1709. He died on 30 May 1780, and was buried on 1 June 1780 at Hartington in Derbyshire. She died on 8 February 1788, and was buried on 12 February 1788 also at Hartington. They lived at Cronkstone Grange, and also at Haslin House near Buxton.

John and Margaret Wheeldon had the following children:

John Wheeldon. He was baptised on 29 August 1738 at Hartington. He died on 16 November 1769 and was buried at Hartington on 18 November 1769.

Elizabeth Wheeldon. She was baptised on 25 March 1740 at Hartington. She was married to Thomas Melland 1740-1792 of Harley in Hartington parish. She died in 1816 aged 76 years and was buried at Hartington on 15 July 1816.

Richard Wheeldon. He was baptised on 13 February 1741/42 at Hartington. He died on 2 December 1798, and was buried at Hartington on 7 December 1798. He lived at Cronkstone Grange.

Isaac Wheeldon. He was baptised on 24 March 1743/44 at Hartington. By 1767 he was an innkeeper at Buxton in Derbyshire, and in that year he married Sarah Knowles at Chelmorton in Derbyshire. She died in 1803 and was buried at Hartington on 22 September in that year. Her widower Isaac Wheeldon died in 1823 at Fenny Bentley in Derbyshire, the home of his first cousin John Goodwin Johnson 1771-1838 the informant of his decease.

Edmund Wheeldon. He was baptised on 29 March 1746. On 8 December 1767 he married Mary Enzot at Chelmorton in Derbyshire. They lived at Haslin House, situated between Chelmorton and Buxton in Derbyshire. She was born about 1744, and was buried on 27 May 1822 at Chelmorton. Edmund Wheeldon died in 1796, and was buried on 16 October 1796 at Chelmorton.

Joseph Wheeldon. He was baptised on 18 July 1748 at Hartington. He died aged 3 months on 31 October 1748, and was buried on 3 November 1748 at Hartington.

Mary Wheeldon. She was baptised on 27 October 1749 at Hartington. She died aged two years and was buried in October 1751 at Hartington.

Margaret Wheeldon. She was baptised on 27 December 1751. On 17 April 1777 she was married to Thomas Lomas at Earl Sterndale in Derbyshire. She died on 9 December 1783.

Barbara Wheeldon. She was baptised on 13 January 1755 at Hartington. On 28 April 1785 she was married to John Ford at Earl Sterndale in Derbyshire. He was a maltster at Ashborne in Derbyshire, and when he died she continued the business with great success. She was a benefactor of the people of Ashbourne.

Their father John Wheeldon died on 30 May 1780, and was buried on 1 June 1780 at Hartington in Derbyshire.
His widow Margaret Wheeldon nee Goodwin died on 8 February 1788, and was buried on 12 February 1788 also at Hartington.
