William Wilson 1756-1821

William Wilson was born in 1756 at Twyford in Derbyshire, the son of John Wilson 1720-1789 and his wife née Anne Cocks 1736-1764. He was baptised on 21 November 1756 at Barrow-on-Trent in Derbyshire.

In 1779 he married Elizabeth Brooke West.

They had the following children:

Ann Wilson. She was born in 1783. In 1803 she was married to her second cousin the Reverend Daniel Wilson 1778-1858, who became Bishop of Calcutta.

Joseph Wilson. He was born in 1786.

Selina Wilson. She was born in 1788 in London.

William Wilson. He was born in 1791 at Twyford.

Sophia Wilson. She was born in 1792.

Their father William Wilson died on 24 August 1821 aged 65 years at Over Worton in Oxfordshire.

His widow Elizabeth Brooke Wilson née West died on 10 May 1827 in Islington, London.
