Anne Cocks was born in 1736, the daughter of William Cocks and his wife Margaret (maiden surname unknown) 1709-1783 of Champion Farm near Duffield in Derbyshire. The family surname was variously spelt Cocks, Cock or Cox.

On 30 October 1754 she was married to John Wilson 1720-1789, the son of John Wilson 1697-1747 and his wife née Ann Henshaw 1698-1755.

Their children were:

John Wilson. He was born in 1755 and died in 1835. He was unmarried.

William Wilson. He was born in 1756 at Twyford in Derbyshire. In 1779 he married Elizabeth Brooke West. He was a business partner of his brother-in-law Ambrose Moore of Derby. He died in 1821.

Ann Wilson. She was born in 1758 and died in 1803. She was married to Ambrose Moore of Derby.

Thomas Wilson. He was born in 1760 and died in 1829.

Stephen Wilson. He was born in 1762 and died in 1814.

Mary Wilson. She was born in 1763. She was married in 1791 to William Green at All Hallows Bread Street in London, and died on 14 February 1796 aged 32 years.

Their mother Anne Wilson née Cocks died on 30 April 1764.

Her husband John Wilson died on 8 August 1789 at Stenson in Derbyshire.
