Charles Henry Gould was born on 12 January 1876 in Belvidere, South Australia. He was the son of Charles Gould 1853-1889 and his wife née Grace Waters 1853-1889.

He was twice married. On 16 October 1911 he married Sarah Charlotte Pinnock in St. Matthew's Church, Kensington in South Australia. She was born on 13 March 1877 in Kensington, the daughter of James Pinnock and his wife née Christina Mitchell. She was known in the family as Nellie. Their children were:

Raymond Gilbert Barrett Gould. He was born in 1913 and died in 1990.

Ethel Christina Hope Gould. She was born in 1916 and died in 2003.

Their mother Sarah Charlotte Gould née Pinnock died in 1916 at Cottesloe, Perth in Western Australia (1). She was buried in Karrakatta Cemetery in Perth (2).

Charles Henry Gould married secondly Sophie May Marsland in 1918. She was born in 1889 at Glenorchy in Victoria, the daughter of Charles Alfred Marsland and and his wife Charlotte (Lottie) Cameron Winters (3).

They had the following children:

John Charles Gould. He was born in 1919 and died in 1970. He was known in the family as Jack.

Elfrida May Gould. She was born in 1922. She was known in the family as Freida.

Thelma Lily Gould. She was born in 1923 and died in 2003. She was known in newspaper reports as Jean.

Charles Henry Gould and his family lived in George Street, Cottesloe Beach in Western Australia, and later at Beverley (4) Minnivale during the First World War (5) and Koorda in 1925 (6) in that state.

He died on 29 March 1925 at Wyalkatchem in Western Australia, and was buried in the cemetery there (7).
His widow Sophie May Gould née Marsland died in 1966 in Perth, Western Australia.
