Dorothy Goodwin born 1681

Dorothy Goodwin was baptised on 26 March 1681 at Hartington in Derbyshire. She was the daughter of Joseph and Margaret Goodwin of Hurdlow in Derbyshire.

In 1699 she married William Melland 1675-1725, and they had the following children:

John Melland. He was baptised on 25 June 1702 at Youlgreave. He married Rebecca Briddon.

Sarah Melland. She was baptised on 1 November 1704 at Youlgreave.

Elizabeth Melland. She was baptised on 11 February 1707 at Youlgreave.

William Melland (1). He was baptised on 12 April 1710 at Youlgreave. He married Anne Steeple of Aldwark in Derbyshire, and died in 1764.

Margaret Melland. She was baptised on 13 July 1713 at Youlgreave.

Rachel Melland. She was baptised in 1716. She was married to Stephen Staley of Winster in Derbyshire, and they had a daughter Dorothy Staley baptised in 1744 at Winster. Rachel Staley died in 1748 aged 32 years.

Hannah Melland. She was baptised on 1 December 1718 at Middleton-by-Youlgreave.

Francis Melland. He was baptised on 19 April 1721 at Youlgreave.
