There was a close family connection between Nat Gould and Arthur Burnett who was farming at Woodborough Manor.
Arthur Burnett and Clifford Burnett 1859-1936 were sons of John Burnett (1) and Ann (or Annie) Burnett of Grindon in Staffordshire. They had seven children including Arthur Burnett (born 1851) and Clifford (born 1859), both born at Grindon. Their other son William Burnett (born 1857) became an auctioneer and estate agent at Urmston, near Manchester.
Clifford Burnett 1859-1936 was the husband of Ellen Elizabeth Gould, the daughter of Gilbert Gould 1821-1891 of Pilsbury Grange and the sister of Mary Gould, Nat’s mother.
So Arthur Burnett was the brother of Nat’s uncle, and also the brother of his cousin’s husband.
(1) John Burnett (born in Grindon 1814) may be related to Thomas Burnett 1817-1886 who married into the Gould family of Scaldersitch in Sheen parish, Staffordshire. Possibly they were brothers.
