"This is the last Will and Testament of me John Morgan Bletsoe of Bletsoeria Place Daventry in the County of Northampton L.L.D. as follows I direct my just debts funeral and testamentary expences to be first paid by my Executors hereinafter named out of my Personal Estate And I desire that I may be buried in my family vault at Daventry aforesaid at the least possible expence I give and devise all that my messuage cottage or tenement with the gardens stable coach-house and appurtenances thereto belonging in my own occupation And all that my messuage tenement or dwellinghouse with the garden orchard and appurtenances thereto belonging situate in Daventry aforesaid adjoining to the first above mentioned messuage now in the occupation of Thomas Albourne And also all those my two closes of land situate in Daventry aforesaid adjoining the said two messuages containing five acres or thereabouts now in the occupation of Thomas Stanton unto and to the use of my friends Samuel Noon of Rugby in the County of Warwick Farmer and William Gilbert of the same place Shoemaker and their heirs during the life of Ann Johnson the Wife of my Grandson William Morgan Johnson Upon Trust nevertheless to permit and suffer the said Ann Johnson to reside in one of the said messuages so long as she shall think fit to reside therein and subject thereto Upon Trust out of the rents and profits of my said messuages closes of land and premises to keep the same in good tenantable repair and insured against fire and to pay the surplus of such rents and profits from time to time as and when the same shall become due and not by way of anticipation into the proper hands alone of the said Ann Johnson during the term of her natural life independent and free from the control debts or engagements of her said husband and I do hereby declare that her receipt in writing alone notwithstanding her coverture shall be a sufficient discharge for the money therein acknowledged to be received And from and after the decease of the said Ann Johnson I give and devise my said messuages closes of land and premises unto her Children Matilda Mary Johnson and John Morgan Johnson their heirs and assigns as tenants in common with benefit of survivorship in case the death of either of them under the age of twenty one years without leaving lawful issue But in case both of them the said Matilda Mary Johnson and John Morgan Johnson shall depart this life in the lifetime of the said Ann Johnson under the age of twenty one years without leaving lawful issue then surviving then I give and devise my said messuages closes of land and premises unto the said Ann Johnson her heirs and assigns for ever I give and bequeath to the Treasurer for the time being of the Wesleyan Benevolent School at Daventry aforesaid the sum of Sixty pounds to be applied by him for the purposes of that Institution I give and devise all the Real Estate not hereinbefore devised to which I shall be entitled at my decease And I give and devise the Residue of the Personal Estate to which I shall then be entitled unto and to the use of my friend Thomas Holt of No. 3 Richmond Terrace Islington in the County of Middlesex Banker’s Clerk for his own use and benefit I trust my Grandchildren will not think that I have omitted to mention them in this my Will from want of affection but I do so because I consider they are already otherwise amply provided for Provided always and I do hereby direct that my Trustees may deduct and mutually allow to each other all disbursements and expences incident to the execution of this my Will and shall be responsible each for his own acts and defaults only and irresponsible for losses occurring without wilful neglect or default and shall be indemnified with or out of my trust property against all liabilities consequent on the execution of this my Will And I appoint the said Samuel Noon and William Gilbert Executors of this my Will And I revoke all former Wills by me made In witness whereof I have to this my last Will and Testament set my hand and seal this fifteenth day of September One thousand eight hundred and fifty two – John Morgan Bletsoe LS Signed sealed published and declared by the said John Morgan Bletsoe as and for his last Will and Testament in the presence of us present at the same time who at his request in his presence and in that of each other have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses. Proved at London 1st. June 1854 before the Judge by the Oaths of Samuel Noon and William Gilbert the Executors to whom Admin was granted having first sworn by Commission duly to administer.”
