Ludwell

John Gould was born in 1811, the son of William Gould 1771-1826 and his wife née Mary Turney 1778-1862.

He was baptised on 25 January 1811 in St. Mary's church, Nottingham.

On 30 March 1830 he married Mary Prince at Sheen in Staffordshire.

She was born in 1807, the daughter of Joseph Prince of Brund in Sheen parish.

He had an estate at Ludwell in Hartington parish in Derbyshire, bequeathed to him by his uncle Joseph Gould 1765-1825.

John Gould died on 5 April 1854 at Ludwell aged 43 years, and was buried at Hartington on 12 April 1854.

His Will had been made on 29 March 1854, and was proved on 17 June 1854.

His widow Mary Gould née Prince died on 31 December 1881 aged 74 years, and was buried at Hartington on 11 January 1882, where there is a gravestone inscribed to her memory and that of her husband.

Her Will was proved on 3 February 1882 (1).
