Hannah Sandford was born on 11 August 1667 in Bermondsey, the daughter of Edward Sandford and his wife Ann Sandford nee Ruslen. He owned property in Boreham and Hatfield Peverell in Essex and in the London parish of St Mary Magdalen in Bermondsey (1).

She was married to John Hollis 1666-1735 at St Mary Magdalen church, Bermondsey on 5 January 1687/1688. They had the following children:

Isaac Hollis. He was born in 1701 and died in 1774. He married Susan Jones.

Samuel Hollis.

Jacob Hollis.

Timothy Hollis. He was born in 1709, and died on 14 December 1791 aged 82.

Mary Hollis. On 23 October 1712 she was married to Edward Winnock of Bread Street in the London parish of All Hallows. He died on 10 March 1737. They had five children.

Hannah Hollis. She was married to Samuel Edwards in 1714. They had a son Hollis Edwards.

Anne Hollis. In 1717 she was married to Richard Solly 1694-1729. They had eight children (2).

Elizabeth Hollis. She was married to William Ashurst in 1723.

Their mother Hannah Hollis nee Sandford died in 1740. In her Will dated 12 October 1738 she bequeathed £500 to her daughter Mary Winnock; £100 each to the surviving children of her children Isaac Hollis, Hannah Edwards, Ann Solly and Elizabeth Ashurst; legacies to her cousins Robert Ruslin and his sisters Susanna Row, Mrs Grantham, and Cover; £10 each to Nathaniel Hollis and his wife and to William Ladds and his wife for mourning; legacies to her sisters Mary Leader and Ruth Collyer, to cousins Turner and his wife and Benjamin Woodhouse, to the Reverend Mr Needham of Hitchin, and to Mr Gill, Mt Samuel Wilson, Mr Samuel Price, Mr Denham and Mr Jolley (ministers). The residue of her estate was bequeathed to her children Isaac Hollis, Timothy Hollis, Mary Winnock, Hannah Edwards, Anne Solly and Elizabeth Ashurst. Her sons Isaac and Timothy Hollis were appointed her executors. Probate was granted on 19 May 1740 (3).
