Frederick Adams was born in 1872 at Alstonefield in Staffordshire, the son of Mary Adams 1836-1898 and grandson of William Adams 1813-1898 and his wife nee Hannah Wood 1812-1902. He was baptised at Alstonefield on 17 March 1872.

In 1881 he was living with his grandparents in Alstonefield aged nine, and in 1891 he was there working as a grocer's assistant.

In 1901 Frederick Adams married Amelia (maiden surname unknown). She was born in 1874 at Brendon Hill in Somerset. They were then living at 17 Park Square in Lancaster, Frederick Adams being employed as a grocer's manager.

When the Census was taken in 1911, they were living at the Market Place, Ashbourne in Derbyshire, where Frederick Adams was a grocer on his own account.

They had a son, William Percival Adams, who was born in 1903 when the family were living in Lancaster.

Frederick Adams died on 29 September 1927 aged only 55 years. Probate of his Will was granted on 8 November 1927 (1).
