Nat Gould

His life and books

Dictionary of National Biography

The entry for Nat Gould on page 221 of the Dictionary of National Biography (1912-1921 Supplement) was written by F.P. (Frederick Page) based on The Magic of Sport and "private information" (nature and source unknown).

Although basically correct, this entry contains several errors:

Nat Gould was not "the only child" but the only surviving child of his parents.

His wife's second forename was Madeline not Madeleine.

His first home in Middlesex, on his return to England, was at Bedfont not Feltham.

He was not buried at Ashbourne but at Bradbourne in Derbyshire.
