Daniel Bennington 1870-1941

Daniel Bennington was born in 1870 at Milldale in Staffordshire, the son of John Murrell Bennington 1828-1901 and his wife nee Hannah Austin, and the twin brother of Samuel Bennington 1870-1905.

In 1891 he was working as a gardener for John E. Middleton and his family at Springwood, Manchester Road, Pendlebury, Salford in Lancashire.

He married Ellen Barns in 1897 at Ashbourne Register Office. She was born in Tiverton, Cheshire in about 1875. In 1901 Daniel Bennington was a farm worker, living with his wife and first daughter in Agden Bridge, Lymm in Cheshire. By 1911 they were living at Bollington (now Little Bollington) near Altrincham in Cheshire.

They had the following children:

Edith H. Bennington. She was born in 1899 at Ashbourne.

Elsie Retta Bennington. She was born in 1902 at Agden, Cheshire.

John William Bennington. He was born in 1904 at Agden.

Millie Bennington. She was born on 24 February 1907 at Agden. In 1926 she was married to Frederick Leigh.
